- HOURS OF OPERATION – The Salt Water Dock is open year-round. The landing float and ramp are in only during the season.
- RESTRICTED USE (MEMBERS ONLY) – The Salt Water Dock is a private dock and is for the expressed use of SCC members and their invited guests. No other persons are allowed use of the Salt Water Dock at any time. All boats are personal property to be used by the owner (member) or their guest.
- LIMITED USE – SALTWATER DOCK – The dock is for the picking up or discharging passengers. There is a one (1) hour limit for the tying up of boats to the dock. Overnight tie-ups are strictly prohibited.
- LIMITED USE – SALTWATER DOCK COMMON AREA – CARS – There is a one (1) day limit for cars parked in the greenbelt or common area – daylight hours only. Cars must display a current SCC Boat/Park sticker. This area is not to be used as an overflow parking area for any member or their guests without prior written approval from the SCC Board or Committee Chairperson.
- LIMITED USE – SALTWATER DOCK COMMON AREA – TRAILERS – There is a one (1) day limit for boat trailers of any length parked in the greenbelt or common area – daylight hours only. Trailers must display a current SCC Boat/Park sticker.
- LIABILITY – Members and their guests assume all liability while using the Salt Water Dock.
- DESIGNATED BOAT AREA & KAYAK RACK – The Salt Water Dock contains a designated area for the placement of small boats and kayaks during the season, April 1st through December 1st for use by SCC members only. Members wishing to use the kayak rack are required to obtain a current SCC Boat/Park sticker with name visibly marked on the hull and sign an annual release form. ( Release Form ) Boats and kayaks not conforming to the SCC Rules will be considered abandoned property, removed at the owner’s expense and donated to a local charity.
- BOATS – Boats on SCC property must be in well maintained and in working condition. Boats must be placed in an inverted position to prevent standing water from accumulating. Failure to follow these rules will result in the removal of your boat from SCC property. Due to space constraints, the following rules apply:
- Boat length cannot exceed 12ft – Kayaks cannot exceed 16ft
- Only kayaks are allowed on the rack
- No more than 2 kayaks per member lot are allowed on the rack to allow all members equal access
- Small boats (less than 12ft ) are allowed within the designated boat area
- MOORINGS – All boat moorings in front of the Salt Water Dock must comply with the Town of Oak Bluffs mooring requirements. Contact the Oak Bluffs Harbor Master (Phone: 508-693-4355)
Email: [email protected]) for a permit application. Mooring should be placed far enough away from the SCC dock for ample room to maneuver a boat while embarking or unloading from the dock. Any mooring not permitted and/or placed too close to the dock may be removed at the member’s expense. - CHILDREN – Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times while at the Salt Water Dock.
- PETS – Pets are not allowed at the Salt Water Dock or Fresh Water Pond unless their owners obey the Town of Oak Bluffs Leash Law. The law requires all dogs owned or kept within the limits of the Town be restrained from running around or to be kept within the immediate control of their owners or keepers at all times. Within SCC, it is recommended that owners use a leash to control their dogs at all times. Owners must pick up and dispose of pet waste while on SCC property.
- TRASH – The Salt Water Dock has no trash receptacles. Please be considerate of others by cleaning up after yourself and take your trash to your home for disposal.
- ALCOHOL – Please avoid bringing glass containers to the dock area for safety purposes. All beverage containers and related trash must be removed from the dock area and disposed of properly. Underage drinking is strictly prohibited at all times.
- NOISE – The Salt Water Dock is an open area adjacent to individual member’s homes. Please use your best judgment with appropriate noise levels. Members making excessive noise will be asked to leave the area immediately
HUNTING, SHOOTING and UNDERAGE DRINKING are strictly prohibited
